Reilly to host Wolf Point presentation 17-May-12 – The developer has not applied for any permits yet but 42nd Ward alderman Brendan Reilly wants Hines Interests L.P. to meet with its future neighbors and answer questions about a proposal to build three mixed-use towers at Wolf Point. Reilly has scheduled for May 29 a community meeting at which Hines will present its plan for the site, just southwest of Merchandise Mart, explain how it will impact traffic in the area, and answer questions from the public. Located at 350 North Orleans Street, the west tower, according to Reilly, will be a 525-foot residential building with 510 units and 200 parking spaces. The south tower will be 900 feet tall, contain 600 units, 885 parking spaces, and some commercial tenants. The 750-foot east tower will also be mixed-use and contain 200 parking spaces. “I make it a top priority to provide an open and transparent community review of all local development proposals,” wrote Reilly in his weekly newsletter. Co-hosting the event will be the River North Residents Association and the Fulton River District Association. Chicago’s first three taverns were located at Wolf Point, along with the city’s first hotel, drug store, ferry, and bridge across the Chicago River. The Kennedy family currently owns the area.
