New release date is June 29

8-Jun-11 – (Above) Three BASE jumpers – the one on the left is wearing a helmet with a 3D camera built into it – step off the roof of Trump International Hotel & Tower in a new behind-the-scenes video for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. (Click on images to view larger versions.)

“Just getting breakfast, going straight to launch,” muses J. T. Holmes, one of the precision skydivers who performed the stunt on July 17, 2010.

“These are actual people flying wingsuits in a downtown city environment,” says Rob Bruce, director of photography for the skydiving unit, “which has never been done before.”

The two-and-a-half minute video also shows the stunt performers jumping off Willis Tower. The film will open on June 29. Variety reported the change on May 20, pointing out the new date gives the film “a longer lead time into the Fourth of July frame.”
