The Asian community comes together for the annual Dim Sum and Then Some Race.

6-Aug-21 – Here’s what’s going on in Chicago this weekend and beyond to make this summer in the city your best ever.

Grab Your Greens!

On Saturdays and Wednesdays, you can live your best healthy life with seasonal fruits and veggies from Green City Market, open 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. You’ll find the market at the south end of Lincoln Park, near 1800 North Clark Street.

Check out five new vendors – Daisies Chicago, Frillman Farms, Prairie Wolf (dog treats!), Star Farm Chicago, and THEO’s Plant-Based. Buy the best from local, sustainable farmers/food producers. Through October.

Come run in the SUM!

Enjoy a real cultural experience as you run along the lakefront in Uptown and support the Chinese Mutual Aid Association. To kick off the Dim Sum and Then Some Uptown 5K & 10K race, runners will participate in two good luck ceremonies, including colorful lionhead dancers performing a traditional Chinese dance.

Dancing in the Streets

Put on your dancin’ shoes and join the West Town Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Brewing District, and OnTour Brewing for their 4th annual jam band and brew festival. Sip your favorite craft beer varieties from local brewers and dance it off with jam bands from OnTour Brewing. Support the local vendors and makers, as well as West Town restaurants, retailers, and food trucks all weekend long. Your $10 donation will benefit local non-profits.

Navy Pier Fireworks Explode!

Every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. and every Saturday at 10:15 p.m., you can watch a brilliant display of fireworks from Navy Pier. So big, so bright! Watch from the beach or along the Lakefront Trail.

Dave Matthews Band

Dave and his band roll into town once again with their unique blend of rock and indie music, playing an ever-changing setlist.
