Arrest in north Loop convenience store robbery

December 22, 2014 – A south side man has been charged in an armed robbery on the north side of the Loop.

Chicago Police Department Ardamis Simms (left), age 35, was arrested after being identified as the man who robbed the 7-Eleven at 180 North Franklin Street, two blocks south of Merchandise Mart, on December 5 at 4:44 a.m.

Police say Simms walked into the store with a handgun, announced a robbery, and ran away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Simms lives in the 4800 block of South Champlain Avenue. He was in Central Bond Court on Sunday.
