skyscrapercity, chicagocarless lead pack of Marina City web sites 6-May-10 – chicagocarless.com had the biggest increase in web traffic over the past three months, out of 14 sites with a Marina City connection. The blog by east tower resident Mike Doyle jogged to second place, ranked as the 634,933rd most popular site on the Internet according to the web analysis company Alexa. The ranking was slightly different at Compete, another service that estimates web traffic, showing the top five sites as skyscrapercity.com, chicagocarless.com, lynnbecker.com, bin36.com, and hotelsaxchicago.com. Marina City Online was ranked seventh on that list, behind architechgallery.com. On May 3, 2010, according to Alexa, the top web sites related to Marina City were
*Amano Italian Trattoria closed on March 6. Despite having the biggest increase in ranking of the 14 sites in February, marina-city.com did not have enough traffic in May to be ranked. There was not enough data to rank bertrandgoldberg.org and landmarkmarinacitynow.org. Alexa does not rank sub-domains, which would exclude the Marina Watchdog blog and sites for Dick’s Last Resort and Transwestern. Alexa bases traffic estimates on data collected from users of its toolbar and other sources over three months. There are an estimated 206 million web sites on the Internet. The top three sites, according to Alexa, are currently google.com, facebook.com, and youtube.com.
