4-Dec-19 – A man dressed like a Chicago police officer robbed a currency exchange inside a Magnificent Mile shopping mall on Monday evening.
The robbery unfolded around 7:40 p.m. at Currency Exchange International at The Shops at North Bridge, 520 North Michigan Avenue.
Police said a man wearing a CPD hat and blue uniform shirt with a reflective vest and a green surgical mask approached the business’s kiosk on the first floor near Nordstrom and demanded money while implying that he had a gun.

A 22-year-old employee handed over a bag containing about $2,700 worth of euros and British pounds, according to initial reports from the scene.
Police said the man is black, about 40 years old, six feet tall, and weighs 180-200 pounds. He may have met up with an accomplice waiting in a white car in the 500 block of Lower Michigan Avenue.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
