May 9, 2014 – Chicago police arrived at the Jewel-Osco on North State Street seven minutes after it was robbed late last month but the suspect got away.

At 11:32 a.m. on April 24, someone set down an item to purchase, handed money to the cashier, but then reached over the counter and grabbed cash from the register. The robber got a stack of $10 bills, a stack of $20 bills and possibly a $100 bill before fleeing.

A police officer watched video of the incident and searched the area without success.

Police did not release a description of the suspect other than to say he or she was wearing blue or gray jeans, a jacket, and a black top with red sleeves.
