Michigan Avenue landmark lit to promote global health

8-Mar-11 – (Above) Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” logo is projected onto Orchestra Hall, the Michigan Avenue home of Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Violinist Itzhak Perlman – with guest conductor James DePreist, both polio survivors – performed with the orchestra in a special benefit concert Monday evening.

In February 2010, the message was displayed on Chicago’s Wrigley Building. Other landmarks recently illuminated by Rotary include New York Stock Exchange, The Obelisk of Buenos Aires, Pyramid of Khafre, The Coliseum in Rome, Sydney Opera House, London’s Tower Bridge, and Trevi Fountain in Italy.
