Chicago police issued a community alert on Saturday about more phone robberies since the alert they issued on August 17. Thieves in both alerts match the same description. The robber approaches from behind, grabs the phone, and flees on foot or bicycle or sometimes a white Cadillac. Between August 12 and September 18, there were ten robberies, mainly in River North and close to State Street. Locations include the 500 block of North State Street, near a CTA station. Hubbard, Illinois, and Ontario Streets – all within a few blocks of State Street. And the 400 blocks of Michigan, Wabash, and Clark Streets. The robberies happened during morning, afternoon, and evening hours. The suspects are described as two black men, about five-feet-eleven-inches tall, weighing 140 pounds. One is 15-20 years old with dreadlocks and the other is 18-24 years old.
