Photo: The rough’n tumble laundry room

7-Oct-10 – Don’t get us wrong. Stealing clothes from a laundry room is about as low as you can go. We were just impressed and a little amused by this creative attempt to put the fear of a cat virus into the sweater pilferer.

The note, in the east tower laundry room at Marina City, reads: “To the person who stole three men’s sweaters that were drying on these racks (bright red, mustard yellow, and bright green), I just thought we should alert you that the sweaters are potentially carrying feline Parvo/Panleuk viruses that killed a kitten we were fostering in less than 24 hours. I will be contacting the management office for surveillance video evidence. Please return the sweaters to the laundry room.”

We looked it up and there really is a virus named “Parvo/Panleuk” and it’s very serious. Bleach is used to kill it, which would explain why the sweaters were in the laundry room.
