Landmark Marina City website taken down

July 8, 2012 – A website promoting official landmark status for Marina City is no longer online. landmarkmarinacitynow.org was switched off sometime between June 29 and July 6.

The domain was registered to Ellen Chessick, secretary of Marina Towers Condominium Association, on May 20, 2008. On July 1, 2012, the domain’s status was “HOLD” but the domain does not expire until May 20, 2013.

On August 12, 2008, 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly announced he had started the formal process to seek landmark designation for Marina City. However, Marina City has never made it onto any agenda of the Commission on Chicago Landmarks.
