Police seek Jeep SUV from Indiana involved in fatal hit-and-run in River North21-Nov-16 – Police have the license plate number of a sport utility vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run early Sunday morning in River North. 23-year-old Phillip Levato was struck as he crossed North LaSalle Street at West Chicago Avenue at about 4:01 a.m. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital but pronounced dead at 4:35 a.m. According to Chicago Police Department, Levato was hit by a white mid-sized 2016 Jeep Compass with Indiana license plate BU3440. The SUV was last seen traveling south on LaSalle Street. CPD is asking anyone with information to call its Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521. Levato lived in the Bridgeport neighborhood southwest of the Loop. |
