Photos: Chicago River turns green for 55th time

14-Mar-16 – There were no significant incidents on Saturday, just a river that turned green as it has every year since 1962.

Thousands of people lined both sides of the Chicago River west of Lake Shore Drive to watch the annual tradition, which started this year at about 9 a.m. It was followed by a parade at noon along Columbus Drive in the Loop.
