![]() 2-May-23 – Clark Street, between Grand and Kinzie, should be closed to traffic and open for outdoor dining through the summers, according to results of a survey by 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly. Reilly announced the results in his April 28 newsletter to constituents. He says “thousands” of people responded to the survey, and 79.7 percent of them “strongly support” closing the street. Only 8.8 percent of respondents were “strongly opposed.” The rest somewhat opposed, somewhat supported, or were neutral. Reilly says his office is now working with city departments to work out the details of closing Clark Street. The outdoor dining program, he says, “may last through the summer but will not be permanent.” |
