Burglar caught inside River North business

May 11, 2016 – A man was caught burglarizing a business in River North on Monday.

Chicago Police Department 39-year-old Bernard Carter (left) was found by police SWAT personnel and a K-9 unit on the second floor of a store in the 300 block of West Grand Avenue.

Responding to a burglar alarm at about 12:13 a.m. on Monday, police observed damage to the front door and a garbage bag that contained merchandise from the store.

Carter lives in the 1400 block of South Canal Street, near the Metra Rail Yard south of Roosevelt Road. He was charged with felony burglary and will be in bond court on Wednesday.
