New Year’s Eve on Marina City’s block

9-Dec-12 – New Year’s Eve will range from mellow to loud on Marina City’s block north of the Loop. Revelers will have at least nine options for the evening of December 31, which is on a Monday this year.

10pin Bowling Lounge will co-host an event with Time Out Chicago magazine. $95 will get you access to an open bar – including the specialty vodka – from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., along with a buffet, DJ and dancing, and of course, bowling.

Bin 36 will offer live music, a special four-course menu, party favors, and of course, champagne for New Years Eve. Cost is $60 per person for the first seating, 6-8 p.m., or $85 per person during the second seating, 9-11 p.m.

Crimson Lounge No fewer than three DJs will be on hand at Crimson Lounge for The Roaring Twenties, an event scheduled from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

While there will be hats, noisemakers, and a live band at Dick’s Last Resort, general manager Dan Reynolds warns they are “the anti-New Year’s Eve place.” No cover charge, no over-priced menu, says Reynolds, “just good old Dick’s Last Resort fun.”

Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse will be elegantly decorated for New Year’s Eve with candles, party favors, and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. The restaurant on the northwest corner of the block is offering fixed-price menus that start at $80 per person, or $110 with wine pairing.

Before the balloons drop at midnight, the alternative rock band Third Eye Blind, along with Mutemath, will perform New Year’s Eve at House of Blues. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $110 and you must be 21 or older. Private opera boxes are available. Meanwhile, on the Back Porch Stage at the HOB restaurant Crossroads, The Steepwater Band, a Chicago rock band, performs at 10:30 p.m. Again, 21 or older. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show.
