(Click on image to view larger version.) 26-Oct-15 – Anonymous inspectors have reported back to Michelin and this year, eight River North restaurants will get “Bib Gourmand” designations. They include all seven restaurants that were honored last year plus a new one, Bohemian House. Besides making tires, Michelin publishes travel guides, hotel and restaurant guides, maps, and road atlases. The designations, announced on Thursday, will appear in the sixth edition of Michelin Guide for the Windy City. To qualify for a Bib Gourmand, a restaurant must serve two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less. “Bib Gourmand is a highly desired honor among restaurateurs,” says Michelin, “and one that is recognized by the many people who covet quality food at a reasonable price.” This year’s Bib Gourmand winners include
Specializing in European dishes such as spaetzle, schnitzel, strudel, and kolacky, Bohemian House opened in May 2014 in 4,200 square feet of ground floor space on West Illinois Street. Executive chef Jim Papadopoulos was previously a chef at Sam & Harry’s, a steakhouse in Schaumburg. Of the 58 Chicago restaurants on the list, only one, Pump Room, is located in the Gold Coast neighborhood. |
