‘Pulsing Marina City playground’ is CBS Chicago ‘Best Of’ winner

8-Feb-11 – Its “skydeck” is only on the 61st floor, a skating rink has long since been converted into a steakhouse, it has no spa that we are aware of, but still Marina City was put in good company recently by CBS Chicago.

The television station included the north-of-the-Loop complex in its list of Best Things To Do In A Skyscraper.

Writing last week on the CBS Chicago website, Lauren Wulf listed five locations that offer “some of the best activities, tourist attractions, dining and shopping in the sky.” Marina City follows Willis Tower, John Hancock Center, Water Tower Place, and Trump International Hotel & Tower.

Wulf says Marina City “obviously fits the bill” on their checklists.

“We took a look at all of the iconic and historic skyscrapers in Chicago and chose them based in no particular order on location, building size, amenities, activities, dining, lodging, and entertainment available.”

Noted by name are House of Blues, Hotel Sax, Crimson Lounge, 10pin Bowling Lounge, and Marina City’s five restaurants.
