20-Oct-13 – (Above) A film crew prepares the State Street Bridge for a scene for Chicago P.D., a spin-off of Chicago Fire that will debut on the NBC television network in January. Filming for the series started in September. It will be shot entirely in Chicago.
The northbound side of the State Street Bridge was closed to vehicles and pedestrians on Sunday as a scene depicting a traffic accident on the bridge was shot, supervised by real Chicago police officers. Spectators lined the southbound side of the bridge, which was left open.
